The Hannan Public Library just acquired a new addition to the facility. We have a wonderful, large meeting room that is now available for library activities and to clubs, organizations and private functions. UPCOMING ACTIVITIES
Anyone interested in booking the meeting room must call the library during library hours (see homepage) at 743-6200. The individual booking the room must sign an "Application for use of meeting room" taking all responsibility for any damages incurred during the use of the room on the date and time used. Keys for the meeting room must be picked up during library hours on the last day the library is open before the meeting is scheduled. Staff may not be contacted at home or asked to come in during non-library hours in order to provide the meeting room keys to the applicant. The following information about the applicant is required on the application: Name of organization, date and time of meeting, purpose of meeting, approximate number of people expected to attend, the applicant's name, address, home phone, business phone and driver's license number. The staff does reserve the right to deny applicant use of the room if the meeting would be in violation of any guidelines set by the Mason County Library Board.
MEETING ROOM CHECKLIST
1. Stack all metal chairs on the chair cart.
2. Place the fold-up tables in their original positions.
3. Place all trash in the trash bags provided by the library (found in the bathroom) and put bags of trash by the chair cart.
4. Vacuum the meeting room using the vacuum cleaner provided by the library which is found in the bathroom.
5. Make sure bathroom light is off and commode has been flushed.
6. Make sure all meeting room lights are off.
7. Make sure both locks on the meeting room door are locked.
8. Place the meeting room key in the envelope provided by the library and place the envelope in the book drop located on the front porch of the library. Double check to make sure the envelope has dropped into the book drop.
Please note that no refreshment tables may be set up or refreshments eaten on the Story Hour rugs. Also, no decorations or presentation boards may be taped on the walls or hung from the ceiling.

"Book Buddies"
The "Book Buddies" is a book discussion group. We now have 14 members and meet each month to discuss the book that has been assigned to the group to read. Each month the group is given a new book to read. Some are provided by the West Virginia Library Commission and some are purchased by the members. If you are interested in joining, please call the library. For more details of upcoming meetings please click on "Book Buddies".

"Friends of the Hannan Public Library"
We would love to have you join our group. We meet on an "as needed" basis. Our purpose is to provide assistance to the library, whether helping with special activities or fund raising. Call the library to join and find out the details of our next meeting.
